Geni.com is a family-tree-making service that's very easy to use and it's free. It also has a simple way to invite other family members in the hopes that they'll put in their own data and add to your family tree.
Data entry is a very easy. All you have to do is type the names of each person. You can determine relationships by a simple click of the mouse. You can also fill in other data (birthdates, whether the person is alive or not, and so forth) as well.

If you are not sure of their information, you can enter their e-mail address when you're doing your quick first pass, and Geni will then (optionally) invite these people to contribute to the family tree with info you don't have. The interface is easy enough for even nontech-savvy relatives.
If you just want an easy way to record your family tree, Geni.com is a great tool. It's a lot of fun, also.
